This is gonna be a rack for heavier electric bikes and we're gonna take a look at how it fits on our 2020 Subaru Forester. So this has a ramp installed to the rack, which means that it's very convenient for if you just wanna ramp your bikes on and easily take them off. With a 66 pound per bike weight pass that's very impressive. But let's talk about how this fits on our Forester. The very first thing I like to look at is the tilt away feature to see if you can open up your hatch. more

The Destination 4 is one of my favorite bike racks to recommend to people just because it is compact, it's lightweight, it works really well, and it's at a great price point. So there's a lot of things that this bike rack has going for it, and the versatility for different types of bikes is awesome too. But it also has its downsides, like it doesn't tilt away. So if you do need to open up the hatch on your Forester, you are gonna have to remove your bike and lower that mast in order to lift that door up. more

How's it going, everybody, it's Ethan with etrailer, here. Taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on our 2016 Subaru Forester. Designed with e-bikes in mind it does support a handful of different varieties of frames and sizes with these clamps that swivel. Supports up to 66 pounds per bike. It is rated for RVs and travel trailers as well. But something to keep in mind is that if you are off-roading or using this on an RV, that it only supports up to 40 pounds in that case. more

Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2016 Subaru Forester- Video
How's it going everyone It's Ethan from etrailer here today, taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E on our 2016 Subaru Forester. The rack supports a weight of up to 70 pounds per bike, which is perfect for e-bikes. It is rated for use with motor homes but it is not for travel trailers. So if that's something that's important to you, just keep that in mind. Our bike is held in place primarily through this padded frame clamp in addition to three straps on the bottom. This clamp does, like I mentioned, make contact with the frame, so it's something to keep in mind. more

Eva Angeline: Hi everyone. It's Eva Angeline here at Etrailer and today we are looking at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 bike rack here on our 2020 Subaru Forester. So this is a great bike rack if you're looking for something that is solid, easy to use and will keep your bikes safe and secure as you go on your trip.One of its features which I'm super excited about since it does it so well is to tilt away. To do so pull this lever right over here and just let it slowly fall and you can see that angle of tilt away, which is really good because even with limited clearance here on our Forester, you can see that you can definitely open up your hatch, access the inside of your car, maybe put away groceries or get your bike helmet out all without having to take off your bike, because you can just tilt it away. And if you want to lift it back up, all you need to do is lift it back up and then snaps into place.The way our bike is mounted to our bike rack is by this wheel strap as well as this wheel mount. So the wheel mount is nice because even if you have it on your carbon frame bikes, your alternate frame bikes, it's perfectly fine because it's mounted by the wheel. more

Zach here at etrailer.com, and today we have the Thule Camber on our 2019 Subaru Forester.This is going to be a really good bike rack if you're looking to haul a lot of bikes, but you're not looking to spend a ton of money with some of the more expensive platform styles, and you're getting a really good bike rack in Thule. Thule makes really good stuff. They do a lot of testing, a lot of engineering behind giving you a solid bike rack. My favorite part about this bike rack is the spacing, though, and how easy it is to use. A lot of hanging style racks, you're going to have an issue with how close your bikes sit together, and this one is going to allow you to space them out about 7" apart on those cradles. more

Hey everyone, Collin here at Etrailer. Today we have in here a 2019 Subaru Forester, and we're going to do a test fit of the Rocky Mount split rail LS, three bike rack. Now this is a platform style rack that mounts to the hitch receiver of your Forester. It's going to allow you to load up to three bikes and get them to and from your destination. One of the really cool features about this is that if you do have the option to remove this rear cradle, inaudible 00:00:27 rear tray right here, basically how your bike rack is going to come is that it's going to be a split rail LS, two bike rack with this foot rail, add on to make it into three bikes. So if you wanted to take this on off, a common example will be, if you want to carry an e-bike on here, well you will only be able to do thatIf you have this piece removed. more

And we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Hitching Post Pro four bike rack.Now this is a hanging style bike rack. It's going to mount to the hitch receiver of your Subaru and it's going to allow you to transport up to four bikes to and from your destination.It's going to hold each bike by your top tube and it's going to have three points where it secures. Two of those points are going to be on the top tube with these thick rubber straps securing it into the cradles. The third point is going to be this thick rubber strap securing the seat post tube into the anti-sway cradle, which just helps take out a lot of the unnecessary movement.Now let's go ahead and remove the bike. more

This is a premium two-bike platform rack that's going to be ideal if you have carbon fiber because there's no frame contact. If you have frame contact, that could potentially damage your carbon fiber bikes, so by clamping it here on the wheel, we keep our frame nice and safe.One of the great things about this bike rack is its tilt feature. There's a lever located here that you can pull to lower the rack down, giving you access to your tailgate. This is nice if you have things in the trunk that you need to access. You can get to those without having to take your bike all the way off. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester, we're gonna be testing the Yakima Ridgeback two bike rack, and that's gonna be part number Y zero two four five seven. As you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of these features.Now if we start here on the ends of our arms, we are gonna have two bottle openers that Yakima loves to put on their bike racks. If we look closer at these cradles, we're gonna see they are stationary, however they make up for having these nice rubber TPE padding. Now what that means is these notches right here are gonna act as shock absorbers for your bike frame while you're traveling.The bike's gonna be secured at three different points of contact. Were gonna have two zip strips securing the frame of our bike into these cradles. Then we're gonna have this anti-raddle cradle and, once we have a zip strip securing the frame into the cradle, that's gonna prevent too much raddling or swaying while we're driving, preventing our bike from making contact with the vehicle or with another bike we might have installed.I want to point out up here, if you look at your front wheel, we're gonna see it can kind of roam freely as it wills. more

How we're going to do that is we're going to come and pull this gray pin right here. You might need to lift the bike rack up just a bit, and wiggle it out like so. From there, we're going to pull the red pin and then your bike rack can tilt away like so. As you can see, our hatch can open.It comes close to making contact with that handle bar, but it doesn't quite do it, so you're all good right there. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Subaru Forester- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Aero Light 4 Bike Rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, Part number INH640.As you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of these features. Now starting first, we're gonna have this integrated cable lock system. It comes from the base of the bike rack and it inserts into that lock right there. When you want to remove the cable, you will get a set of keys with your bike rack, you would simply just slide up this tab right here, you have your insert for your key, you can unlock you cable, and unload your bikes.Our cradles right here are gonna be able to pivot left and right, like so, and also move up and down the bike rack to accommodate any size bike frame you might have or any spacing between the bikes you might want. That being said, our bike has three different points where it's secured to the bike rack. We have two of these straps on the top of our bike frame, securing it into the cradles. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Subaru Forester RKY10007-05- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Subaru Forester, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo two-bike rack, part number RKY10007-05.We already have a bike installed on our rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look here. This is a pretty unique two-bike rack. This can tilt away like most bike racks with both bikes still attached, and also, you can remove this back section here by removing the two bolts on either side. It does come with the tools to do this, and convert this to a one-bike rack as well.This can fit a wide variety of bikes, such as the Fat bike that you see here, and it comes with a strap extension to do so. This will also fit mountain bikes, road bikes, alternate frame bikes, and kids' bikes, and you don't have to worry about any bike adapter bars or the protection of your carbon frame bikes, because this grips it by the tire, therefore there's no frame contact at all.To tilt this away from the vehicle, there's a latch up at the front here. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester, we're gonna be test fitting the RockyMounts Monorail Solo one bike platform rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number RKY10007.I've gone ahead and installed the bike, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. This does fit a wide variety of bikes, particularly the path bike like you see here. It does come with a strap extension to attach everything in place. It's gonna grip your bike at two points. We're gonna have the rear strap as I showed here, and this does pivot back and forth to accommodate different size bikes. Then we're gonna have this wheel hook up at the front. more

Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Subaru Forester- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack 2 Bike Rack for two inch hitches, part number RRRBC045. We already have our bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look here.This does come with this strap included, and this is the stabilization strap for where you have even two bikes, you wrap it around the frames of the bikes into a tow point on the vehicle itself, and tighten it up, and that's going to help keep everything together while you're driving, and keep it from moving too far back and forth.Like most hanging style bike racks, the cradles here are adjustable back and forth, or side to side, and we have them pointed inward like you see here, and that's going to help out with loading and unloading our bike to the inside. At the ends of our arms, we do have reflective material, and that's going to help for better visibility at night, and how it actually grips the bike, it'll have three points of contact. It will have two straps on our top tube, and one off to the side, which is going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth. Now, as you see with the stabilization strap here, it's not going anywhere.Let's go ahead and remove the strap, and then we'll remove our bike. more

That part number is TH934XTR.Now, we already have our bike secured down, I'm first going to show you how we secure it in place. So we have three straps altogether, we've got two over the top portion of our frame, and we have one underneath as our anti-sway strap. We're going to start by pulling down and lifting up to release those, then we'll be able to pull our bike off and we can set it off to the side.With our bike out of the way we're gonna take a few measurements.
